Different variants of worm drive hose clamps:
There are many hose clamp variants that differ in terms of design, material and functionality. These variations make it possible to find the right hose clamp for every application.
Our worm drive hose clamps are equipped with a stamped band. Especially in applications with high vibration, the stamped band ensures protection of the hose. In addition to that the rounded, smooth inside of the band prevents the clamp from cutting into the hose. This particular hose protection is standard in all NORMA® and ABA clamps.
Static hose clamps are ideal for applications where the hose and connection do not move.
Dynamic hose clamps, often equipped with a spring (WF for "wave spring“ or Belleville washer), can adapt when the hose expands and contracts again. This prevents the hose from being damaged by movement or the connection from leaking.
Stainless steel clamps with worm drive defy attacks from moisture and chemicals. This makes stainless steel hose clamps particularly durable and reliable in damp or aggressive environments.

This type of clamp uses a mechanical thread that winds around its own axis like a worm and thus tightens the band of the clamp. With this worm thread, this special car clamp can be precisely adjusted with a simple twist and holds hoses in the desired position.
Hose clamps are always used when a hose needs to be attached to a pipe or connection piece. The hose clamp fixes the hose in the desired position and guarantees that the connection is secure and tight. In vehicles, this hose clamp is mainly used for induction, cooling and heating systems, fuel lines or for general fastening.
A worm drive hose clamp comprises a stamped or perforated metal band attached to a housing with a screw mechanism, typically a screw head at one end. The screw tightens the band around the hose by moving the worm drive.
The band is placed around the hose that is to be mounted to a pipe or connection piece. By turning the screw in the housing, the worm drive thread moves the band and tightens the clamp to the hose. The resulting pressure attaches the hose firmly against the pipe or connection piece. The quality of NORMA® and ABA clamps is characterized by the fact that the contact pressure on the hose is consistently distributed evenly around the entire diameter of the hose. This ensures a secure and tight connection that reliably holds up even under pressure or vibration.
